The cast of The God Committee at Wollongong Workshop Theatre

Medicine, money, and morality clash when the Heart Transplant Selection Committee of St. Patrick’s Hospital has only minutes to decide which of three patients will receive a heart that has suddenly become available. A cross between Twelve Angry Men and Grey's Anatomy, The God Committee takes us into the inner workings of a transplant program and a decision - for both their candidates and their program - that is a matter of life and death.

"Very strong cast, great script, really well considered show. There was such a strong thread of authenticity throughout, it really kept you engaged the whole time. Well done cast and creative team!"

"The plot is simple: one group of people has to decide which of 3 candidates will get a donor heart. The decision is anything but: no one is the perfect candidate, and absolutely everyone has an agenda. You walk away thinking: Who would I have chosen? Could I have been objective? And when the stakes are literally life and death, could you then have lived with the decision you made? Brilliantly acted, under the skilful direction of Suzi Villeneuve-Smith, this show deserves sell out crowds."

Approximate duration: 90 minutes, no intermission

Wollongong Workshop Theatre (WWT) is the longest running community theatre group in Wollongong. We produce several shows each year, all of which provide our local community with access to the world of theatre production on stage and behind the scenes.

WWT is located on Dharawal Country. We acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as the traditional owners of the lands on which we perform and throughout Australia, and pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging.
